Ep. 131: The Chalk Line (2022)

Horror Movie Weekly Ep. 131: The Chalk Line (2022)

WOW! It has been almost exactly FOUR MONTHS since we last released an episode. Jay of the Dead contracted a serious illness for three months — believe it or not, a literal heart infection! — and things got pretty dicey there for awhile. But alas, Jay survived and here we are again. Now, to be clear, this episode was recorded way back on November 30, 2022 — right at the start of Jay’s illness. Next week’s episode release will be brand-new material recorded in March 2023. So, welcome back to Horror Movie Weekly, One Badass Horror Podcast. Here in Episode 131, your Triad of Terror bring you a Feature Review of a film from Spain called “Jaula” (aka The Chalk Line (2022)). Remember, you are welcome to call and leave us a voicemail at (801) 215-9704. Join us!

Note: This episode was recorded on Nov. 30, 2022, and was released on March 26, 2023. Because this episode was recorded in 2022, the five-year span is still 2017 to 2022.

This weekly Horror movie podcast brings you one recent Horror movie review every Sunday. (We’re defining “recent” as any Horror movie released within the last five years, so now that it’s 2022, we’ll be covering Horror films from 2017 to the present.) And we always reveal next week’s pick at the end of every show, so you can watch along with us and be prepared for the following episode. Join us, and thanks for listening!

5 thoughts on “Ep. 131: The Chalk Line (2022)

  1. So great to hear the three of you together again! I will have to say though I think this may be the first time I disagree with PV completely.

I was excited for Run Sweetheart Run when it was supposed to drop in May of 2020 and have been following it ever since. When I finally got to it I was actually really disappointed. I’m sure my anticipation played a part in that. I’d still say it’s a decent movie though.

I was also higher on The Chalk Line than any of you were. I really enjoyed it. Looking at my list of my favorite horror movies of 2022 it ended up being number 25.

Shout-out to Watson for another The Skin I Live In mention. That’s a great movie that surprisingly flies under the radar given that Banderas is in it.

    1. Man! I don’t get notifications when people respond to the episodes! Anyway, my dude… I’m so glad you dig The Skin I Live In! That movie FLOORED me when I finally saw it.

Also, my friend… I don’t think I ever told you how much I enjoyed your Best of 2022 horror episode. Well, I’m telling you now. It rocked.

      1. I appreciate that my friend! I love doing that episode each year to, if nothing else, see what new dumb categories I can come up with lol. I’m loving the steady stream of HMW lately! You keep up the excellent podcasting my friend!

Ps: I love that you guys picked Alone recently. Definitely an underrated one.

  2. It’s the rize of the fenix
    It’s the call of attack
And you’ll know when you’ve seen us
