Introduction
— Welcome to Horror Movie Weekly Episode 029
– Lady Phantom’s pick for this week: The Final Girls (2015)

The Final Girls (2015) — Genre Classification: Comedy / Horror / Fantasy / Slasher

Premise:
A young woman grieves over the unexpected loss of her mother, due to a tragic accident. The deceased mother was an actress who starred in a very popular, Friday the 13th-esque ’80s Slasher flick called “Camp Blood Bath.” So, the daughter is invited to an anniversary screening of Camp Blood Bath, when somehow — through some unexplained and fantastical means — she and her friends find themselves whisked away, inside the world of the Slasher film, where the characters are equally as real as the danger from the slasher killer, “Billy.”

  1. I haven’t seen this film so cant comment on it but during this episode I found something else that piqued my interest & it was that bill chete doesn’t like scream & neither do I which proves once again bill chete is my horror spirit animal though I did like scream 4 the one time I saw it. About the invisible man…Good movie but grossly overrated overhyped film that annoyed me at times was boring for some of it & i’m still confused about the supposed twist/big reveal that happens so maybe you guys will explain it to me “I’m dumb”but the one kill scene is the star of the movie one of the best deaths of all time in any genre of film IMO….Have a great week horror freaks 👱‍♀️👐📺👻

    1. I liked Scream 4 too. I thought it was the “best” of them. As for The Invisible Man, wait til you hear our discussion…

  2. Unfortunately, due to technical issues, I wasn’t able to see this one. I just wanted to post before I left to go to the movies for the last time, until they institute martial law. The coronavirus madness has to end.

    1. That’s too bad to hear, Sean. I’m sure you’ll get to watch it soon, though.
Stay safe, and let’s hope the madness ends as soon as possible.

  3. I really like The Final Girls. I learned about it from Popular Mechanics of all places. It was saying they made some special camera rig for the movie. The movie really hit home for me with the idea of getting a second chance to connect with someone who is gone. Thanks for another great episode!

    1. Glad you enjoyed the episode!

      Yeah, that’s a very attractive idea. It’s just a very emotional ride…
