Happy Halloween this month! You’re in the right place to hear about Horror movies because it’s always Halloween on this podcast! In fact, here in Episode 187 of Horror Movie Weekly, Jay of the Dead and Mister Watson take a detour into the lonely Belgian countryside for a Feature Review of the deranged and unsettling, French-language rural nightmare, Calvaire (2006) — also known as “The Ordeal” — which was chosen by Mister Watson. This overlooked entry in the New French Extremity movement delivers bleak atmosphere, strange locals, pigs, Christmas lights, and a traveling entertainer who has the very bad luck to break down in precisely the wrong place. Plus, the boys, boys, boys bring you Micro Horror Movie Reviews of Pig Hill (2025) and #Manhole (2025). Along the way, they discuss Watson’s ridiculous new meme-slang vocabulary, podcast “rizz,” the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl victory, the cinematic value of colorful Christmas lights, and why Jay is still delighted by Monkeybone’s karaoke rendition of Jay’s absurd comedy song, “Flyin’ to Flin Flon.” Join us!
Note: This episode was recorded on February 12, 2026.

This weekly Horror movie podcast brings you one recent Horror movie review every Sunday. (As noted previously, we’re defining “recent” as any Horror movie released within the last five years or the current year; so now that it’s 2026, we’ll be covering Horror films from 2005 to 2015.) And we always reveal next week’s pick at the end of every show, so you can watch along with us and be prepared for the following episode. Thanks for listening!
