  1. Sorry, Jay, Billchete makes the right call on this one. I made the wrong call and I watched the movie before listening to the review.

I like the original French movie ‘Them’ (2006) even better than the American remake ‘The Strangers’ (2008).

  2. Bill and Lady Phantom are so wrong! I haven’t seen it since it came out but to say Strangers: Prey at Night isn’t even a good movie? Come on!
I feel sorry for the both of you, that you can’t just enjoy the movie and have to nit pick it to death.
It’s not as good as the The Strangers but it is still a great movie.
I’m with Jay on this, it’s at least an 8.5-9 out of 10.

    1. I promise you Andrew, I went into this rewatch with the whole intention to like it. But when characters start to act like they’re idiots, they don’t give me a chance to genuinely like them and root for them, and I find myself saying “COME ON!!!” every ten minutes, I really can’t like the movie. Don’t feel sorry for us because we don’t enjoy it; I’m sure I would love movies other people wouldn’t, and I don’t feel sorry for them. Personally, I only start to nit pick stuff when they movie fails to suck me in. And anyway, the fun in all of this is that we have different opinions.

  3. I’m in UTTER DISBELIEF that jay would give this a 9.5. Listening to him try to defend this movie, I was screaming at the podcast like a sports game bad call! I was in shock. I gave this movie a 2. I liked none of it, except the sound going in and out during total eclipse of the heart. That’s it. The family was so disassociated. It was like watching 4 separate people from 4 separate families pretend to be one family. There could’ve easily been one moment of love and care with the kids and parents, but there wasn’t. Nothing. The point of the strangers wasn’t just home invasion and slasher it was the emotion and atmosphere. The shots. The sounds. Everything landed. NOTHING LANDED IN THIS FILM. THERE WAS ZERO EMOTION. The only thing bill and phantom were wrong about was that the strangers did write that note with the smiley face. It comes up multiple times through the movie and it is on the cover. So I think that smiley was them. All that aside. I’m just in absolute awe. I mean there isn’t even a word to describe how I feel about people who enjoyed this movie! It makes zero sense. Hour and 20 minutes is TOO LONG I wanted it to stop the whole time. Jay, I’m just, I can’t even, it, I’m just, speechless.

    1. Wait. I said the strangers wrote the note! The handwriting is childish and there was the smiley face. Jay and Bill were the ones that said they didn’t. Other than that, THANK YOU! I was reading comments on Twitter this morning in disbelief. Not only do people love the movie, they defend it with teeth and nails. Give it a few years, people will stop raving about it and start seeing it for what it is.

      1. You’re right! You did say that! My mistake! Phantom is right per usual! Did the people on Twitter even see the first strangers!? I can’t wait for the hype to die down. It hurts my soul!

        1. Thank you, thank you. And I know. I can’t believe how many people are defending the honor of that movie. I just can’t understand it.

  4. Guess we all have our own views. Jay enjoyed it, good for him, I hated it, gave it a 2/10.
One of the best episodes so far though, great to hear you battle.
    Best wishes.

  5. I completely agree with Jay, this is a 9.5! It was my favorite of 2018. Bill and Lady Phantom did make good cases to why THEY don’t like it, it’s understandable, but I just have so much fun watching this movie.
I enjoyed the episode, I loved listening to the battle.
